🐝 Decade of Sticky Branding
Sticky Branding (the book) turns ten. To celebrate this monumental milestone, I entered the recording studio this summer. I am excited to announce the launch of the Sticky Branding audiobook. 🥳
When I wrote the book, I could not have imagined what the next decade would bring.
Again and again, I revisited the Principles to tackle a rapidly changing business landscape. From pandemics to mastering artificial intelligence, Sticky Branding has been the playbook.
Its concepts and stories provided a framework to tackle business challenges that I never could have envisioned.
As I look back, one thing is clear: the 12.5 Principles of Sticky Branding aren’t just branding and marketing ideas. They are timeless, battle-tested strategies that have grown companies through some of the most turbulent times.
My origin story shaped the book — learning how to turn around my family’s struggling IT staffing business — but that was just the beginning.
What started as a personal mission to save my family’s business has evolved into a proven methodology. It’s helped thousands of companies rethink and reinvent their brands, recover lost revenue, and emerge from incredibly challenging situations.

🔎 Most Influential Principle
Sticky Branding is based on 12.5 Principles to grow your business into a remarkable brand. The goal is to get customers beating a path to your door.
The foundational Principle is Simple Clarity: The ability to describe your brand and what makes it unique in 10 words or less. Nothing will accelerate your marketing more than Simple Clarity.
A good way to think about Simple Clarity is it’s like a label on a file folder in your customers’ minds.
For a label to be effective it should have three things:
- Short: Ideally 10 words or less.
- Descriptive: The label offers an explanation of the contents.
- Memorable: Easy to find and easy to refer.
Simple Clarity follows the same principles. You can write your label by answering three questions:
- You are… What is your company’s industry or category?
- You do… What does your company do? More importantly, what does it do better than everyone else?
- You serve… Who does your company serve?
Simple Clarity distills you are, you do, you serve into a statement about your brand.
Simple Clarity is the first Principle of Sticky Branding. The audiobook comes with a Sticky Branding Workbook so you can apply the ideas in your business.
One Stat to Watch
#1
Sticky Branding launched as a #1 Globe and Mail Bestseller. It even beat Oprah’s book, What I Know For Sure. 🤯
⭐️ Post a Review
In Sticky Branding I wrote, “If you don’t blow your own horn, nobody will.”
It would mean so much to me if you download and listen to Sticky Branding on Audible.
If you love it, please post a review. They are incredibly helpful, because the Amazon and Audible search algorithms are driven on reviews.
Even if you have read the book, you will find new content in the audiobook, including a new introduction. I can’t wait to hear what you think!
