📈 CEO Optimism Rising
CEO optimism is rising for 2024, especially for their businesses!
Sticky Branding conducted a CEO Sentiment survey late last year. 38.9% of respondents anticipate the economy to improve and 33.3% expect it to stay the same. But a whopping 77.8% of respondents anticipate their sales revenues to increase in 2024.
Sticky Branding’s community of CEOs are more optimistic than average, but sentiment is up! 📈 69% of Deloitte CEO Sentiment respondents are optimistic for 2024, and 61% of EY’s respondents expect higher revenue growth.
A primary driver for this optimism is a growth mindset. You can compete and win in a slow or declining economy.
One Stat to Watch
66.7%
The percentage of companies increasing their sales and marketing budget in 2024. In Sticky Branding’s CEO Sentiment Survey, CEO optimism is rising and so too are investments in sales and marketing. Is your company doing enough to keep up this year?
🥊 Be Bold & Be Relevant
Companies are investing in growth for 2024, but not all marketing tactics will work. In a slow economy, change your marketing tactics and brand messaging to be hyper-relevant.
Downturns make customers more price sensitive. They are working to do more with less.
The natural response might be to offer discounts and promotions, but look at the underlying need: Customers are looking for a deal to reduce their purchase risk. How can you help them mitigate those risks?
This can be achieved through flexible payment terms, installments, or smaller purchases.
When you find a way to help your customers, promote it! If you don’t blow your own horn, nobody will.

People are at their most reflective on New Year’s day 🥂 and their birthday. 🎂
These are milestone dates. Another year has passed, and it causes people to reflect, ponder, and plan for the future.
On birthdays and New Year’s, people consider what they achieved in the past year.
- Did they hit their goals?
- Are they happy?
- What resolutions should they make for the upcoming year?
These questions are often deeply personal, but they also have a business connection.
The next 2 weeks are a sales and marketing opportunity. Encourage your sales team to proactively reach out to customers. It’s a moment of receptivity. Simply ask, “What are you excited for in 2024?”
Extend this to your content and social media marketing. It’s a new year with new hope and ideas. Capture it!
